About Chester County Hearth & Home

Robert & Cindy Smith are the principal owners of Chester County Hearth & Home. Robert started a construction business in 1984, performing home remodeling and repair. Soon the company began increasing its workforce and scope of operations and began specializing in home additions. Most of the home additions we built, naturally, required a form of heat, and many times I would supplement that need with either a wood stove or a hi efficiency wood burning fireplace. One of our local suppliers offered me the unique position of being their primary installing contractor. So in 1989 we accepted this invitation and began installing a varied amount of heating appliances from wood stoves, wood inserts, gas units, factory built fireplaces, and pellet burning appliances. Serving the five county area in southeast Pennsylvania. The appliances we installed and offer service today on are as follows:

  • Avalon
  • BIS
  • Buck stoves
  • Citation
  • Dovre
  • Dutchwest consolidated
  • Effel
  • Fisher
  • Flame
  • Garrison
  • Heat-n-Glo
  • Heatilator
  • Hearthstone
  • Jotul
  • Lopi
  • Napoleon
  • Quadra-fire
  • Regency
  • Tempco
  • Travis
  • Vermont Castings
  • Whitfield
  • ... and others

During this time I acquired many years of experience in the installation of such appliances and continued service and cleaning of them. So in 2008 I joined the National Chimney sweep Guild, attended their chimney sweep training school at their technology center in Plainfield Indiana. I took and passed the chimney sweep exam given through the NCSG on behalf of the Chimney Safety Institute of America. I am extremely pleased in being part of such a unique and professional organization which lends credibility and continued training to the chimney servicing industry. Certification as a chimney sweep is something every consumer should expect of a chimney servicing company. In 2002 I retired the construction business formally and founded the present company. I also took my lifelong hobby of woodworking and incorporated that under the same company name and offer custom cabinetry to my clients, please visit my mantle page on this website and follow the link to my other site Bars4home.com.
